Stardew Valley Creator Confirms A Major Multiplayer Feature Hidden Behind A Familiar Code

Playing Stardew Valley with a group of friends is an experience that mobile users have yet to enjoy, but that's changing thanks to an Easter egg hidden in the app's 1.6.9 Update. Multiplayer has been an option for most versions of Stardew Valley; While the game may have launched without the feature, it's become one of the most popular ways to navigate life in Pelican Town. The mobile version has unfortunately struggled to offer a similar experience but ConcernedApe has clearly been working hard to remedy that.

Writing on X (formerly Twitter), ConcernedApe confirmed the existence of an "experimental mobile multiplayer feature" on mobile that can be accessed by correctly cracking a secret code in the game's main menu.

According to the creator's explanation, tapping the four groups of leaves attached to the Stardew Valley logo in the correct order will unlock the Co-Op button. The code is easy to remember since it's an homage to the legendary Konami Code that's been used in dozens of games to hide secrets: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right followed by the question mark in the bottom corner.
