nigier Fortnite: Battle Royale Review
Dec 3, 2024
Fortnite is arguably one of the most overrated games ever created, and it's hard to see why anyone would willingly subject themselves to its chaotic and frustrating gameplay. The battle royale format is nothing new, but Fortnite's gimmick — building structures — feels more like a cheap mechanic that distracts from the core combat. The controls are clunky, and the game rewards spamming rather than skill, making it feel more like a frantic mess than a carefully crafted experience. The cartoonish graphics, while bright and colorful, come across as childish and irritating, offering little in terms of visual appeal for mature gamers. On top of that, the constant barrage of in-game purchases, skins, and cosmetic items make it clear that Fortnite is more interested in exploiting players than offering a meaningful experience. Updates are erratic and often unhelpful, altering the game in ways that annoy the dedicated fanbase rather than improve the game. For a game that claims to be free-to-play, it's obvious that the real goal is to drain wallets. It's a frustrating, shallow, and cash-grabbing mess that offers little to players who are looking for anything resembling depth or enjoyment.
