Nioxic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Review
Dec 4, 2024
I didn't play Stalker 1. I had a lot of technical issues.
Stalker 2 runs a bit smoother in that regard. and my PC (8th gen intel cpu and new high end graphics card) ran the game perfectly fine with high settings at 1440p.
the gunplay is perfectly fine. there's a lot of reason to explore and find loot, which is awesome, in the beautiful (though sad) open world.
Enemies are aggressive but kinda dumb - and easy to outsmart and kill. (at least on medium difficulty)
the story is perfectly fine with some decent cutscenes. Nothing special, nothing bad.
There's a lot of 'anomalies' in the game, which IMO makes the game kinda annoying.
Loads of places have these blurry swirly spots, where you have to throw a bolt into, for them to temporarily disappear. That seems extremely tedious and annoying. And lots of places have spots where you are poisoned with radiation. These elements (radition and anomalies) are IMO not very fun gameplay elements and seems to mostly be there, to annoy and/or slow down the gameplay. That annoyed me to no end.
Anyways, if you like open world survival and some 'puzzle' like elements from the aforementioned radiation and anomalies, then you will probably enjoy this game quite a lot.
