NobleGamer Rise of the Tomb Raider Review

I can recommend this for anyone who likes 3D adventure games, doesn't mind crafting elements, and doesn't need an elaborate story. Here is what you need to know: +Great look, sound, and feel to everything. ?Quality realtime character cinematics, but in game character mouth movements when talking are much weaker. -Minor shimmering on edges of certain surfaces that are dark but have a light shining on them from a different angle. +Focused on what made the first game good while minimizing the amount of QTEs -As opposed to getting generic part resources for upgrading weapons, there's now ~10 resource types, half for weapon upgrades, and half for equipment like extended ammo pouches. It was okay and wasn't very complex, but slightly annoying to backtrack once to where animal skins were so I could craft a bigger resource or ammo pouch. ?Still has ample side quests and optional tombs, but given that I could naturally unlock 75% of all the abilities & weapons I wanted with only entering 1 optional Tomb & a few side quests, I wasn't motivated to do other tombs & side quests. ?Enemy variety and tactics are decent. Not dumb or stellar. +Stealth is encouraged through higher XP rewards versus non-stealth such as gunplay. ?Ample activities outside of the main adventure, such as exploring the Croft mansion, and other excursions. ?Other excursions have a currency and card system, where cards can modify gameplay & weapons in more unique ways than the main game.
