NobleGamer Tales & Tactics Review
Jun 12, 2025
This is only the second autobattler I've played, though my first with RPG elements. So I can easily recommend it to gamers who can relate to that because the game delivers on what it is. It is possible that there are auto battlers with many more features or that are more polished, and people who have played those might find this weak by comparison, but right now I can't compare this to what I have not yet played.
Here is what you need to know:
+Easy to use interface for placing & buying things as well as making choices.
+Combat makes sense how it plays out, and is reasonably rewarding to me, though it will be more chaotic when speeding combat up.
?Text based events between battles are fine, and there's decent variety, but some keep recurring that can get old. Events range from shops, rewards, and once in a great while a dice roll for rewards. There's some risk & reward in terms of certain choices giving curses (that can very rarely get removed), and certain enemies remembering your choices.
?Creature and enemy variety is decent, though it is annoying how challenging sometimes it is to get enough units for upgrades, especially in the mid to late game, because variety increases over time.
?Cost of creatures and items make sense, where rerolls after 3 & buying creatures cost stars, and items cost coins.
+Progression between runs unlocks many more characters, available abilities, events, and more. Some unlock provide more variety and some may make things easier. Any unlock group can be disabled.
