NobleGamer Frostpunk Review

I recommend this game at historic low price only to people who enjoy the premise and are not hardcore city management fans. It is focused on being a brutal bleak take on (city) survival, so the city management isn't super deep or grand because the survival aspect means it is centered on resource management than anything else. As a result, I find This War of Mine to be more engaging, but I was very glad to have bought this in a bundle and got 40 hours of gameplay out of it. Here is what you need to know: ?The base game includes just 3 scenarios, which I took 10 hours each on for Normal difficulty. There is also an Endless mode that I haven't played yet. +Grainular options for difficulty. I personally recommend at least Hard difficulty for survival or city management vets, except for the Winterhome scenario because it is so hard. ?Plenty of achievements can foster more replay value if you are into that kind of thing. +The game looks and runs great on my RTX 3080. Devs made their own engine which works great and has evolved since the Anomaly games. +Music and sounds are all very well done. +Technologies/Upgrades + Law are varied and often meaningful with their upsides, downsides, and tradeoffs -There are a few idiosyncrasies with some minor details, such as the "hitboxes" of some buildings when it comes to AoE abilities of other buildings. These don't affect gameplay much. -Because this is a survival game, there is a focus on min-maxing via resource management. This is not for everyone. -Out of the entire tech tree, there are a few different things where you should be given more information on their outcomes in order to have an informed decision. ?Survival mode is great if you want the highest challenge, no save scumming, and no in-game pause aside from options menu. I only recommend it to people that find a higher than normal difficulty too easy. I never tried it.
