NobleGamer Control Review

I personally enjoyed it just as much or more than Quantum Break by the same dev studio because it took abilities, environmental destruction, and SCP-like sci-fi to a new level. It also has more replayability because of optional side missions, additional challenges, and exploration. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys SCP-like sci-fi with horror elements and can appreciate third person action that happens along the way. I would say that documents throughout the game tell just as much or a bit more of the story as different character interactions or dialog. Hardcore fans of third person action may think the action gets somewhat repetitive in the late game, though the game does try to mix it up with the many different powers & weapons that the player character receives & builds (respectively) over time. Download the game's unofficial patch from pcgamingwiki in order to get various enhancements & fixes including the most recent version of DLSS compatable with the game.
Here is what else you should know about the game:
+There are a decent number of main missions and side quests, where the latter sometimes reveal during main missions and revealing others require exploration first.
+Good soundtrack, spoken dialog, and general audio, though sounds from creatures & guns could be more varied.
+Environmetal destruction & weaponization was incredible, along with great player abilities to unlock, though...
-Gun play can seem repetitive in mid to late game. By then you should be using just as many or more abilities than guns though, given the damage buffs available for throwing stuff.
?Some of the floating head dialog or visions from two main characters could've been visualized better.
?Some of the different resources for building gun types & upgrades tend to come from different areas, but you have to figure that out or look it up on a wiki. Naturally playing through the game resulted in me building half or most of the gun upgrades, and all but one gun type.
?The map overlay is mostly helpful, though there are some mapped areas that are more obtuse when multiple levels are at play in the same area. The few places that have absolutely no map at all make sense in context though.
