NobleGamer Superliminal Review
Sep 16, 2025
I recommend Superliminal game to anyone willing to experience surreal dream-like forced perspective and optical illusions. It is the most important PC puzzle game I have played, which the ending will explain, though the game is not necessarily important to the gaming industry or its history compared to other puzzlers like Portal or Myst. This is also a game that I recommend playing in parts, like 30 minutes at a time. It felt way longer than I actually played it (~2 hours), but was just the right length, because after they took forced perspective object manipulation to its limits, the ending scenes started to rely less on this.
The only things that could have been better about this game was that its built in anti-aliasing was weak, which I'll blame on Unity engine, and some of the dark parts in the middle didn't strike me as necessary to make a point regarding the risks of this particular dream state. It makes "Thriller" and "Dark Humor" tags an overstatement for this game.
The fact that they've added co-op and a workshop for making your own dream states is impressive.
