pezpimp Balatro Review

Balatro is a really cool idea. You take an existing mechanic and you turn it into this whole new thing. Balatro uses the Texas Holdem poker hands in a solo play mode. You get a few more cards, but your goal is still to make the best five card poker hand. But as you would expect, there is a huge twist, as you get special cards that let you modify your existing deck or give you multipliers. And your goal is simply to create hands of ever increasing value using your new cards and new multipliers each time to get a higher and higher score. There is always a challenge that indicates the score you need to get, but basically it just increases a little each time. It's a cool concept and I like the game, but these kind of games, mobile repetitive games that never really end, are not my thing. This one is however a step ahead of all the other more bland generic games that all look alike, it is quite original in its mechanic.
