Months after its release, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to be the stand-out in a very strong year for gaming. When it was released, I tempered my expectations, not wanting to be burned by another release. Instead, Expedition 33 hit me like a freight train, surpassing even the most hopeful of my thoughts. Having played through the game in March, before revisiting it again in recent weeks, I truly believe this is one of the greatest role playing games ever created. Not just that, it may be one of the greatest games ever made. We’ve all seen the discussion about games as art, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a masterpiece worthy of the finest gallery.
