Final Fantasy was not one of my childhood games. To tell the truth, the first one I played and that really made an impression on me was FFX.
So FFIII - Remake is the first one I've played since then and I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised.
The story is good (it seems to me that Zelda-Ocarina of Time was a little inspired by it, right?), the soundtrack as well, and the 3D adaptation seems beautiful to me, despite what the puritans might scream. It seems like a game ahead of its time.
However, and I imagine this is the case in almost all FFs, the need to grind like crazy is almost sickening. And without it, you don't progress. I don't know what the alternative would be, but it's very tiring. This combined with the impossibility of saving anywhere other than the external map makes certain passages very heavy.
In fact, after more than 50 hours of gameplay, I stopped because I spent almost three hours in a castle, got to the boss without being able to save, of course, and... I died. In other words, I would not only have to do the three hours again, but also add others to grind and be able to beat the boss.
Knowing that I am not a tough and committed player, and that I have many other games I want to try in my free time, I decided to give up and move on to FFIV. Throw the stone!
However, the experience was very good, and it's a game I highly recommend!
