Because Ambition, while it shares some similarities, isn't exactly a visual novel. In fact, there's a lot more strategy here than I expected. Your choices matter, resources are limited, and the game seems to offer several different paths and endings. And maybe that's exactly why I ended up feeling conflicted. Because I can clearly see what the game is trying to do. There is depth here. There is planning. There is decision-making. But for some reason, the experience never really hooked me. More than once, I found myself more interested in seeing the outcome of my choices than actually invested in what was happening. It's not a bad game. Far from it. In fact, I found it interesting precisely because it tries to do something different from what people usually expect from this kind of game. The problem is that, for me, it lacked that special something that makes you think, "Just one more chapter" or "Just one more run." As a result, I finished the experience feeling more curious than excited. I recommend it to people who enjoy narrative-driven games with strategy elements and multiple endings. But honestly, at full price, I find it hard to justify. On sale, though? That's a very different conversation.
