But… this, my friends… IS A WORK OF ART! SERIOUSLY! Let’s put this into context from the perspective of a humble fan like me. The classic Dooms had ended in 1997, if we consider Doom 64, which, although not my favorite, I still enjoyed. Seven years later, in 2004, we got Doom 3 with its expansions, which, while amazing, shifted the franchise heavily toward horror rather than action. A new experience. Then, aside from some very good fan-made projects, we waited 12 long years, until 2016, for the franchise to return… with this GEM! And be careful, this is not just nostalgia, far from it! Respecting the beloved classics, this Doom brought back the action and experience while improving absolutely EVERYTHING! First, it is still “beautiful” even today! The soundtrack is DEVASTATING! The gameplay mechanics give an unreal sense of power and adrenaline. And finally, there is a more interesting story, just like Doom 3 tried to do. Imagine, there is even a timeline connecting all the games! In short, DOOM is a PERFECT game for its style! It enters my list of favorites. HIGHLY recommended!
