To tell the truth, I'm not accustomed to the franchise and, in the end, not even to the movies. I had played Racer on N64, in addition to a platformer on PSOne and a spaceship combat on the same console. In other words, neither the nostalgia factor nor fanservice applies. I think the first slap in the face is that the game, released on Dos in 1995, aged very, very badly, compared to other FPS proposals from the same year or earlier. Yes, it has other mechanics, but the handling and mainly the graphics (my gosh, the graphics!) make it almost unbearable. The good soundtrack and a parallel story were not enough to compensate for these two negative points. It got to the point that I was going to stop playing, when in a forum I read about 'The Force Engine', a simple mod that completely improves the graphics and gameplay! And, finally, I had some pleasure in playing and finishing it. So, google it and use it, I highly recommend it. However, I can't honestly recommend a game that only becomes enjoyable with an external agent. In its original form, it is reserved for nostalgic people and fans who want to have and finish everything from Star Wars.
