And folks, I don't need much to get scared. I mean, I always jump in Minecraft when a creeper appears, for example. So yes, I love this genre, but since my wife refuses to sit next to me while I play, I can barely finish the games I own. And that's why I'm beautifully proud of myself for having finished The Beast Inside. Beware, I'm not saying it was an inspiration of courage, as I'd scream at every 'jumpscare', and there are many! But I managed to complete the story, hooray! And if I remember correctly, the only other ones I managed to finish were Silent Hill 2, Doom 3, and Resident Evil 1 and 4. How, I have no idea. TBI is well-balanced between game and movie. It's not a Telltale but neither is it a Resident Evil, and sometimes you need to think a bit. That said, the story is relatively good, the graphics beautiful for its time, the soundtrack perfect, and the gameplay adequate (without over-refinements). The game is short, but it seems to me that the duration is perfect. Now, without giving spoilers about the story, which is the core of the game, as I wrote, it's good, but a bit phoned-in, predictable. I don't know if it's because so much has already been produced on the subject, but in the end, there aren't many big surprises. In summary, it's a worthwhile game. However, it's not worth the 70+ reais it's currently costing. I recommend waiting for a sale.
