RoosterCult Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Review

Feb 16, 2025
Combat, movement, and mechanics are super janky. Uninspired puzzles and dialogue. The only decent aspect of this game is Troy Baker's voice acting. You spend most of the time sneaking around empty areas taking pictures of statues and paintings and sneaking back to give them to an NPC. Dogs will just attack you and all you can do it push them off because the game doesn't let you fight them. They just walk to a corner and lay down. So why even put them in the game? You can't see anything without a torch, however, you have to drop it anytime you interact with something or they will go out after a certain amount of time. So then you have travel back in the dark to the starting area to get more sticks. The inventory is tiny and every animation takes 4 times longer than it needs to. You have no stamina and can't hold your breath for more than like 10-15 seconds. Level design is horrible and most missions is just back tracking. The stealth system is a joke, which sucks because that is how you are encouraged to playout every mission. Even just running around main areas to talk to NPCs. I honestly can't remember the story because it was so forgettable. What is this game? I'm not a hardcore Indiana Jones fan but I enjoyed the movies and love the Uncharted series. This is just an over polished, uninspired, and railroading errand simulator. Avoid unless you are a hardcore Indiana Jones fan. Luckily, I purchased the physical version so I will be returning this trash asap.
