Rose Solar Ash Review

The game was great! If I had to compare it to others, it's like Journey and Omno with a bit of Death Stranding and Outer Wilds, plus some light Sea of Solitude type psychological exploration at the end.
The fluid and fast movement was a joy, the space setting was charming, while the atmospheric electronic music completed the picture. It's rare that a platformer is so well done that every one of its pieces is where it needs to be and you almost always land where you want to when running or jumping around. The world was vast with many secrets to find, but navigating it was not a chore at all. The story was meaningful, especially as it got closer to the end.
One downside for me was that the bosses were sometimes tough to beat on the first try even on the normal difficulty. In the game's defense, the retries were immediate and it usually took no more than three attempts, with the boss destroyed in minutes at most. Another downside affecting my score is that some locations were more open than I'd like them to be - I prefer to be directed every step of the way.
