RouhaX Mafia: The Old Country Review

Sep 23, 2025
The hero feels believable and attaching, someone you can follow without losing interest. The story works well – maybe not genre-defining, but strong and enjoyable all the way through. The music is excellent, always in tune with the emotions on screen and giving real depth to the gameplay. I also appreciated that none of the quests felt boring; each one carried its own weight and purpose. On the smaller negative side, the ending could have been handled better. A bit more narrative emotion, or even a different order of sequences, might have made it more impactful. Also, the knife fights come across as a little forced and not very varied. Still, taken as a whole, Mafia: The Old Country is a memorable and very enjoyable experience. It feels like a true return to the good old-school games that were so appreciated back in the 2000s.
