Shuanshuan Nine Sols Review

Pretty sure it's the best Metroidvania game I've played. I've never heard of this game and downloaded it on gamepass thinking it was a cute cat game for my kids but as soon as I saw the opening I knew I was wrong. Then more discoveries hit me like waves: First it was "ok, creepy dark stuff going on, def not for kids..." then "ouch it's making me git gud like Sekiro!" then "wow the story and characters are really interesting?" 30 hours of A+ gaming later and I'm on the last boss and it's the most difficult, yet least frustrating, boss I've fought. If you aren't one to enjoy hard parry-based action games but are interested in a good story, there's a story mode where you can fine-tune damage given and damage taken, so no worries you don't have to git gud! I'm going to buy the game on PS5 and Switch too just to throw money at the dev so they can make more masterpieces like this.
