SorinBleak Pokemon Legends: Z-A Review

Oct 21, 2025
Whimsical and colorful. If you like pokemon you will find some enjoyment here, however you have to be blind to not see the glaring flaws and the missed potential, the sheer lazziness on display here if dumbfounding. Music is Ok, repetitive but ok, nothing special, a downgrade since sword and shields peak in this department. City is small, cant go into buildings, but there is a lot to do and keep you entertained, just keep moving so you don't focus on the horrid textures and the statue-like npc staring blankly at walls. Mega designs are the worst example of "you guys need to hire instagram artists already" the worst, like, Mgea greninja is literally greninja upside down, it's insanely bad. Gamplay loop is entertaining for a while until the Rogue Megas... 10-15 minute raid boss with 2 attacks where you basically spam A. Boring as h***, worst part of the game, doing 3 of these in a row will make you stop playing for the day. Story is not as bad as people say, but the 2-3 hour tutorial is bad, just let me play. Also the constant cuts and loading when talking to side-mission NPCs is bonkers. Example: fight this Chespin - fade to black - battle start animation - battle - fade to black - cutscene "oh! it wants to fight more" - Fade to black - battle start animation - Battle - fade to black - cutscene "oh... This happens 4 times. I don't know, for 15 bucks it is an entertaining game but coming from the worlds largest IP it is unforgivable.
