Sundance Kid Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon Review

Jun 14, 2025
Have not played previous Armored Core titles or any mecha games at all. Really enjoyed this one. Great combat and mecha build variety. If you're looking for typical Fromsoft™ boss battles you'll get them and personally I had more fun with them here than with majority of Elden Ring bosses. The key is in combat design which is highly dynamic and lets you feel truly equal to tough guys you're fighting with. No wasting time on rolling around drinking juice, you've got more weapons ready to shoot than your total heals and that says something. Other than that, the game is rather straightforward. You go on missions via menu, complete main objective, kill a boss, repeat. There's a story going on with choices and multiple endings, but it's kinda muted and mostly presented through audio messages between missions. Can't say I cared that much about it. But I dig the setting and overall style of the game, enjoyed customising my mecha and generally had a really good time with it.
