Sunrise Parabellum Little Nightmares II Review
Sep 4, 2025
+ Little Nightmares II feels like a natural evolution of the first game, refining everything that made the series special, and that from the very first moments ! You will quickly notice that the devs pushed the series further visually and atmospherically. The world is more beautiful and unsettling than ever, thanks to improved visuals + light and shadow work, and more dynamic camera. The atmosphere is darker, heavier and scarier.
+ The horror elements are handled with more precision (I felt genuine vulnerability and discomfort during some sections).
+ The sound design is outstanding and contribute to amplify every moment of tension.
+ I appreciated the pacing of the game, alternating between tension, moments of calm, and the adrenaline rush of a chase.. which kept me constantly engaged and on edge
+ The gameplay benefits a lot from the addition of a companion. The AI is responsive and believable, never feeling like a burden. There were moments of trust and empathy (and more than that) that enrich the experience.
+ The physics add realism and weight to the world as well
- On the downside, some chase and platforming sections felt frustrating sometimes
- I couldn’t help but imagine the potential of a true cooperative mode sinmce the mechanics and companion system are already so strong that expanding them into full co-op could elevate the series even further.
➡ To put it in a nutshell, I'd say that Little Nightmares II delivers a richer, darker and more emotional journey than its predecessor. It’s a terrifyingly beautiful experience that lingers long after the credits roll. I even found myself diving into theories and explanations afterwards, trying to piece together the mysteries of its world. That, to me, is the sign of a great game: one that doesn’t end when the gameplay stops, but continues to haunt your thoughts and spark your imagination.
