Sunrise Parabellum Marvel's Spider-Man Review
May 3, 2025
100% Completion w/DLC
Fantastic Difficulty
PROS :
✅ Incredible web-swinging mechanics. Smooth and responsive.
✅ The dynamic music enhances the sensation of freedom
✅ The combat is fluid and fun. Great variety of combos, gadgets and suit powers for flexible playstyles
✅ Fun story, well paced, engaging from start to finish. Some emotional moments hit hard
✅ The voice acting is correct
✅ The world is beautifully crafted and detailed. NYC feels alive with crowds, traffic, street art, graffiti and atmosphere which add immersion as well
✅ DLC content adds fun variety. Black Cat’s arc is engaging, Yuri’s darker evolution adds character depth, and Silver Sable and Spider-Man's dynamic was entertaining. The DLC's side content (crimes) is more diverse than base game ones
CONS :
❌ Side content becomes repetitive at some point particularly in Act 3 which introduces a grind for completionists
❌ Screwball missions are frustrating. They wre repetitive and overused in both base game and DLCs
❌ Minor technical issues on PC like occasional freezes (2–3 times in 40h) and some bugs that required restarting or reloading
In conclusion :
This game isn't just a great superhero game but more like a love letter to the character, the city, and the feeling of freedom. From its thrilling web swinging and versatile combat to its emotional storytelling and attention to detail, the game rarely loses momentum. It embraces both the power and the burden of being Spider-Man.
In spite of the few missteps in side content and some minor technical issues, the overall experience remains outstanding. Completing it at 100% on Fantastic difficulty only reinforced how well-designed and rewarding it is at every level.
Finally, I consider Marvel's Spider-Man as a must-play whether for fans of the character, open-world action games, or anyone who’s ever wanted to swing through New York with style, heart, and purpose.
