Tahkio Shoshi Doom: The Dark Ages Review

This is definitely a good Doom game, but for me, probably the least enjoyable of the three. The large removal of execution animations made things seem less impactful as a whole. The story is completely throwaway until about 2/3 of the way through. The moment to moment is what you'd expect, but I also feel the more open zones take away from the feel of finding tricky secrets that previously would hide in plain sight. I felt, even for as much as this game cost and as serviceable as it is, it still overstayed it's welcome by a few hours. Definitely a good game that I'd still recommend if you really like the modern Doom games, but this was also the first one I couldn't wait to get out of.
