The Gaming Chronicles Bramble: The Mountain King Review

Jun 28, 2026
Overview One of the good games that plays and feels like Little Nightmares, with a rich Scandinavian setting and folklore that sets it apart. It can be a bit gory in places but that fits the tone. Most importantly it doesn't overstay its welcome — a perfect game to finish over a weekend, and at this point in life that counts for a lot. Gameplay The puzzles are easy to solve but satisfying, stealth sections never feel tedious, and the action is decent enough. The main issue is a clunky feeling to Olle's movement and controls that surfaces at the worst moments and slightly undercuts the experience. Story Well structured and engaging. Ole's journey to rescue his sister is a simple but effective premise, and encountering the various creatures of Nordic folklore along the way keeps things constantly interesting. The narrator does a wonderful job carrying the story forward. Graphics Impressive visuals that fully commit to the fairy tale setting. The kind of game where you feel genuinely part of the world — it successfully transfers that dark, magical atmosphere onto the screen.
