Thebeanygod Pokemon Legends: Z-A Review
Oct 19, 2025
I feel as though stumbling upon this review sit was fate. Upon starting to play Legends: Z-A I almost immediately noticed how on my switch 1 the difference in graphics between it and the switch 2 were so tiny it shouldn’t even be mentioned by anyone. Before I continue to give this game the many negatives it deserves I will say some positives. The story of the game as well as the choice to have it in Lumiose City were bold and to an extent paid off. I loved X and Y and to see some representation was great. It expanded upon the future of the city as well as characters like AZ. They brought in new characters and gave us a really cool concept in the wild areas in the city. The battle mechanics are honestly really cool all things considering having it feel more and more like a Pokémon battle from the anime. The music was top notch per usual.
Now to talk about the negatives. This game disappointed me on many levels. After the widely liked legends: Arceus I was expecting this truly immersive environment where things felt like it does in the anime but it just falls so short of any of that.
The game is rendered poorly, it has png’s of building exteriors, you can’t walk into places like you could in X and Y, the new mega’s are lackluster at best, and the character customization is just sad. This truly encapsulates what GameFreak thinks of us. They give us the bare minimum and like usual the zombie fan-base is gobbling it up. All I can say is thanks for finally convincing me to give up on having any real expectations for this franchise.
