First and foremost, this game was engineered to make money. It was not engineered to please the gamer. At release the game was decent. As 2k developers do every year, they changed to game once casuals complained. This patch completely messed up the game and developers never recovered. This game offers childish and child capturing rewards. I find it hard to believe that adults like wearing banana costumes in a basketball game. It was created to portray realism in gaming but its the furthest thing from realism. In fact, if it is real then it portrays the NBA as a joke. Gamers were promised 9000 new animations, but we only recycle three or four animations from player to player. The rep system was engineered to favor streamers only. If you dont play the game for 14,000 hours you can't reach the top prize of Legend 5. This in my opinion makes it even more of an incomplete game. If my mission in playing the game is to make it to Legend 5, as a man who works everyday, I can't possibly play that amount of time. If you win a game , your reward is a whopping .2-.5% jump in rep. And that's only until you get about halfway up the rep ladder. At this point the rep meter barely moves. It isn't enjoyable when you can be properly rewarded for your efforts. It makes you angry once you realize that you've paid $500 or more for this unfinished game. 2k developers dont care anymore, they just move the $ needle every year. Season events are horrible constructed. These events give you double rep. However, the event may not let you in, lag you out, not pay rewards, or move your rep down. This is if youre lucky enough to get to play it. I have lost all faith in 2k to make a good/reliable game anymore. They copy and paste and re-term every aspect of the game. If you're new to the basketball gaming community I wouldn't waste my time and money on the 2k franchise. Pray for another game developer to get some grit and challenge NBA2k.
