Trixxstrr Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Review

Sep 7, 2026
Just finished up Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Played as one of the featured games in the Game Pass Game Club where we pick a game each month to play and discuss. I really loved this game. Mainly set 15 years before the other games, tells the back story of Sophia, but also starts with her childhood and then jumps way back and forth to an ancient civilization also. The action adventure shift for this game worked well with melee combat using parries and dodges with abilities unlocked along the way. Between this and the chase sequences mixed with puzzle rooms, it has sort of an Uncharted feel, with combat with the army at your heels between unlocking new ruin areas to explore. It doesn't have the stealth focus of the other games, but there is a bit of sneaky/hiding in there too. There is also a horror element with the thing chasing you, but it doesn't end up being too scary for those who don't handle that stuff well. The characters and story are great and kept me engaged throughout. The environments are beautiful with some great effects, and ran nice and smooth on my pc. So ya, I'd highly recommend going through, and you don't need to play the other games first, you just won't catch some references. It took me around 13 hrs to finish.
