Vortex Haze Path of Exile 2 Review

May 27, 2026
Path of Exile 2 is a weighty ARPG that builds upon it's heritage as part of the Path of Exile series and keeps you engaged with a massive game with a even bigger build making system and emphasis on gear and player progression. The game is currently in Early Access and is being constantly iterated upon by the folks at Grinding Gear Games, so performance issues and bugs currently are being worked on and can go a while before being dealt with. But they still are treating this game like a full release game with how huge their content updates are, and how wonderfully the community is treated and their criticisms are addressed. There is certainly a lot of "friction" as I'll call it that makes the game a lot less brain off gameplay that many gamers are used to, and the fact that you have to constantly be on your toes while playing the game makes the combat more engaging and makes build choice matter. I'm making this review 3 days before the 0.5 update that releases on 05/29/2026, so hopefully it doesn't become outdated but the game is seeing huge quality of life updates and is shaping up to be a historically great game as it approaches it's 1.0 launch. The story isn't complete yet, but so far as we inch closer to release I keep getting pulled into the dark grim world of Wraeclast and love the way I get to enjoy the campaign each time on a different class with new weapons, skills, defense types, and mobility options. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy this game as much as I do!
