A charming, soulful throwback to the early 32-bit days of JRPGs. The new voiceovers are very well done, adding an extra layer of charm to a sharp script and nostalgic writing. Considering this was a phone-exclusive game for a few years, the combat is surprisingly cerebral and requires some deep thinking and strategizing during boss encounters. I really appreciate the ability to set your own pace with the “Dimengeon” system, which allows you to effectively disable random encounters for a brief period of time - extremely helpful during stretches without healing items, or when you just want to move on to the next area. Highly recommended.
