WesSide238 Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Review

Jun 14, 2026
i finally understand how the generation before me felt about final fantasy. i was sold after an hour, and rolling credits reaffirmed my love for this game. the story is as rich as a novel. it’s a journey that gives you everything you need at exactly the right moments. there isn’t a single character in this game that feels underdeveloped, and as you learn more about the world, you begin to realize how thoughtfully crafted everything is. and battles are just fun man. the active turn-based combat keeps things interesting, and the bosses are varied and interesting. the picto system is a bit clunky, but is functional for what it is. the environments are deeply memorable, and months after beating the game i can recall a majority of the locales easily. this game takes a little bit of everything from the games i have liked over the years and used it to craft an experience i love. it has slowly over the past year shot up to my #1 game ever, and may potentially my favorite piece of media ever.
