Wiley Jenkins Tomodachi Life Review

May 26, 2026
Tomodachi Life is the perfect representation of the mundane lives that most of us live. The fact that we escape to such a game only to go through the very repetitive steps that we execute in real life truly says something about modern life. I've played thirty hours and by hour eight had seen everything that the game had to offer. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's just a statement to the lack of depth to be had unless you are motivated to create things. Creation is where this game really shines. If you are the type that enjoys making miis, and designing clothes and other items, you won't find yourself bored after just a dozen hours. If that isn't your thing, then you most likely will. When faced with doom scrolling or cycling through miis in Tomodachi Life, I've found myself preffering the latter. Neither are overly productive, but I do get a nice chuckle out of one of my Miis using a phrase I've created in a totally inappropriate way. This game is good, not great, and I feel like once I hit the twenty hour mark I got my money's worth. Tomodachi Life is a respecable 75 out of 100, and since I can't give it 3 and 3/4 stars, I'll round up to 4 stars.
