Zeddo Beast of Reincarnation Review

Aug 9, 2026
Beast of Reincarnation – or: The biggest waste of time I’ve played in years One hour on PS5 was already too much. That’s all it took to confirm Game Freak just delivered their most embarrassing attempt at doing anything that isn’t Pokémon. Spoiler: it’s worse than the last three Pokémon games combined. And I don’t even play them. Same enemies. Over and over and over. Always the same ones. You drag yourself through a map that looks like someone Googled “post-apocalyptic Japan,” applied the cheapest filter they could find, and called it art. Zero love, zero variety, zero atmosphere. It’s an empty, lifeless open-world template where they just copy-pasted the same plant-wolf hybrid every few meters and thought, “Yeah, that’ll do.” After 20 minutes you already know exactly what’s coming. After 40 you’re ready to throw the controller out the window. And the cutscenes. Way too many. Way too long. And zero sense. Absolute nothing-burgers. Characters just stand there spouting empty existential nonsense that sounds like someone blended Nier: Automata and Sekiro, then ran the sludge through ChatGPT twice. No emotion, no timing, no reason to exist. You sit there waiting for the next pointless dialogue to end so you can go hit the same enemy again. This isn’t a story. This is pure torture with cutscenes. The price? Even at 10 euros this thing would still be overpriced. At full price it’s an outright scam. I’d rather play Fortnite. At least there you get variety, people to hate, and the feeling that someone actually added something new at some point. Here you get copy-paste enemies, a map with no soul, and cutscenes that actively beg you to quit. Game Freak, stick to Pokémon. Or better yet: just quit developing games altogether. This isn’t a bold new direction. This is embarrassing overconfidence with the charm of a microwave meal that expired three months ago. One hour was already more than this game deserved. Anyone who plays it longer has my condolences.
