Ander Mafia: Definitive Edition Review

Dec 26, 2025
Remake for Fans with Caveats Mafia: Definitive Edition is a game of contrasts. On one hand, it delights with a powerful story that remains relevant and a magnificent 1930s atmosphere, enhanced by modern graphics. On the other, technical issues, clunky controls, and a lack of interactivity make the experience uneven. As a remake, it succeeds in delivering Tommy Angelo’s story to a new generation but falls short of fully utilizing the potential of modern technology and ideas. It feels more like an interactive movie than a full-fledged game with rich gameplay. If you’re a fan of the original or enjoy story-driven games with historical context, Mafia: Definitive Edition is worth your attention. However, be prepared to tolerate bugs, awkward controls, and the sense that the game could have been something more. For me, it left a pleasant aftertaste thanks to its story and atmosphere, but technical flaws and dry gameplay kept me from fully falling in love.
