A decent, if unremarkable, cover shooter, elevated by artful scene-setting and memorable set-pieces.

A mostly thorough remake of 2002's original, Mafia: Definitive Edition has its moments - but it struggles by the standards of today.

A good looking and competent retread of a second rate original, which improves on everything from the graphics to the driving model, whilst maintaining the game's cinematic essence.

Audience Reviews

Story... Original had some flaws, but the overall storytelling and immersion made me forgive the shortcomings, with the remake, it is the other way around. Unimportant things got improved, important ones got watered down or completely cut. Story wise great. Detail great.. Just a shame you dont let us look at the detail as free roam mode had no interiors to explore.. No trains

Even considering this game as a based on "Mafia The City of Lost Heaven" there are too many things that make you think this is a typical 2K Mafia game. Everything feels off, just like in Mafia 2, like dev team had some great ideas but for some reason they had to get rid of them. City is gorgeous, but empty, all cars feel the same and pretty fast (they should not be), narration
