Episode 5: No Going Back may not have had the emotional impact as last season's finale, but it certainly provided moments of heart-racing action and split-second decision making.
If you weren't able to play The Last of Us on PS3, then definitely check out the Remastered version on PS4. It's honestly a must-play for any PlayStation owner. If you did play it on PS3 already and want to experience it again, well, have at it. The Remastered version only improves upon what you already loved. And adds to it as well with all of the previously released DLC already included on it.
Valiant Hearts: The Great War isn't about being the hero, though there is some of that. It's not about beating the "bad guys," as you'll experience the war from both sides. Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a beautiful depiction of the horrific effects of war.
Murdered: Soul Suspect definitely isn't for everyone, but it fills a nice niche for those interested in the whole murder mystery thing.
Wolfenstein: The New Order isn't groundbreaking by any means, but it's a solid installment to the franchise that Wolfenstein fans will certainly appreciate.
Trust me, by the end of the episode you'll find yourself reliving some of these moments and wondering if the decisions you made were the right ones.
If you are a baseball fan and own a PS4, then MLB 14: The Show is definitely worth the purchase.
Child of Light isn't the type of game we're used to from Ubisoft, but it's the type of game this industry needs. It's hard not to look at the game and admire its beauty, but underneath the gorgeous visuals is a thought-provoking story that'll draw you in. All of this rests on top of polished gameplay with enticing mechanics.
Episode 3: A Crooked Mile is probably my favorite episode of the three thus far.
It certainly is a tough pill to swallow, knowing that Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy is quite possibly the last time we’ll experience an adventure with the top-hatted scholar. Nevertheless, Level 5 sends him off on a worthy adventure, fitting for his farewell.
Whether it's through conversation or through action, A House Divided will make you feel.
South Park: The Stick of Truth perfectly encompasses what the show is all about. My only wish is that more of my favorite characters could've been given the spotlight, but I guess when you've got 17 seasons worth of content, that's easier said than done.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 doesn't do everything right, but the solid combat, breathtaking environment, and wonderfully orchestrated soundtrack more than make up for its annoyances. If this truly is Mercury Steam's last go with the series, it's a good exit.
Really though, only one question needs to be answered: is Rayman Legends worth getting on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One? Honestly, that depends. If you haven't played the game at all then yes, absolutely get it.
Admittedly, I still don't know where I stand on the series as a whole, but that's probably because we're only in Episode Two. With three more still planned, I'm anxious to see where Telltale takes the series. I just hope we don't have to wait another four months to find out.
Tomb Raider was already a gorgeous game, but seeing it on one of these newer consoles is breathtaking.
My best advice is to just try it for yourself, because Don't Starve is such a polarizing game. What I can say with certainty, however, is that you should at least give it a chance.
The Banner Saga is not without flaws, but it is a fun playthrough that will definitely challenge you -- if only with the decisions you are forced to make.
I can't speak for veteran Killzone players, but as a series newcomer I expected more from Shadow Fall. The PlayStation 4 represents the new generation of gaming, but it seems Guerilla Games may have been stuck in the past with Shadow Fall. There just aren't enough "next-gen" moments worthy of being the poster child for the PS4.
TT Games' LEGO Marvel Super Heroes presents a nice break from the complex sports titles and intense shooters that overrun the console. That's not to say the game doesn't offer it's own action, but it's much less in your face. Plus, it's LEGO.
