9.5 / 10.0 - Dispatch
Jun 5, 2026

Dispatch is a superbly written narrative game with great pacing, excellent humor, fantastic voice acting, and visuals that are modern, entertaining, and addictive. The superhero dispatch system is a catchy mechanic that gives the story rhythm and makes the player feel a sense of responsibility. On the other hand, the game is held back by some annoying hacking sequences, occasionally clunky gamepad controls, and choices that have less real impact than they seem. Even so, it’s one of the most successful interactive TV-style adventure games of recent times. And we can only hope that there will be more titles like this. Dispatch isn’t a game that sets out to revolutionize the genre. It’s a game that knows exactly what it wants to do, does it damn well, and manages to be funny, clever, and, at times, even human along the way.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire isn’t a perfect game. The detective portion is shallower than it should be. The combat is fast-paced and fun, but it gets easier over time and becomes a bit repetitive. The difficulty isn’t very high, and some abilities or weapons could be put to better use. The post-release technical glitches also can’t be completely ignored. But on the other hand, this is an original game with a huge personality. It has great visuals, lively animations, a fantastic soundtrack, and—most of the time—very entertaining action. It doesn’t rely on just one visual gimmick. It has a world, a pace, humor, voice acting, a soundtrack, and enough content to stand on its own as a full-fledged shooter with adventure elements. It’s not just “Cuphead as an FPS.” It’s MOUSE. That’s exactly what sets it apart from the rest of the run-of-the-mill titles. And at a time when so many shooters look, play, and shoot almost identically, that’s quite a lot.

Final Fantasy Tactics: Ivalice Chronicles isn’t just a good remake. It’s the definitive version of one of the best tactical RPGs ever made. Every fan of the genre should play through the entire game from start to finish. For newcomers without prior knowledge, it will be a more challenging and frustrating introduction, but Easy mode will help. The story of intrigue, betrayal, and power is better written than in most modern games. The combat system offers a challenge, has depth, and manages to surprise you from start to finish. With excellent voice acting and a great soundtrack, you get a fantastic game that no RPG fan should miss. Square Enix has proven that even a game nearly thirty years old can be brought into the modern era without losing its identity. The Ivalice Chronicles exudes respect for the original while also serving as a prime example of what remakes should look like.

As a fan of the Yoshi series, I won’t hate it forever, but the untapped potential of Final Fantasy XVI—especially in its RPG elements—is disappointing. Veterans may be disappointed, while newcomers may be thrilled. The graphics are excellent. The combat system is debatable. The sound is outstanding, and the battles between the Eikons are phenomenal. Hopefully, future installments will learn from these mistakes and follow in the footsteps of the excellent Final Fantasy VII: Remake, which seamlessly blends its genres.

5.5 / 10.0 - Lost Soul Aside
Sep 28, 2025

Is it a total flop? Not really. Lost Soul Aside isn’t a bad game. It can entertain with fast-paced combat, impress with its audiovisuals, and delight with a few clever ideas. At the same time, however, it’s average in many respects, below average in places, and occasionally comes across as amateurish. Its appealing exterior can be misleading, because underneath it there are plenty of rough edges. At a time when quality hack-and-slash games are few and far between, this might be a stopgap option for fans of the genre. More discerning players, however, are in for a disappointment wrapped in pretty packaging. Lost Soul Aside looks great, but beneath the gloss there are plenty of rough edges. It’s not lacking in potential, but the execution is severely lacking.

If you were hoping for a full-fledged sequel packed with new features, Nightreign will disappoint you. The game retains the same world, existing characters, and multiplayer elements, as well as the high difficulty level of the base game. Most of the content is simply a reworking of familiar locations and assets from the original game. That doesn’t mean you won’t have a blast during the first few hours, but unfortunately, the game falls back into a rut all too quickly.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an excellent game and an experience that every RPG fan should give a chance. The developers have managed to create a world that deeply moves players, gameplay that’s fun, and audiovisual elements that we’ll be praising for a long time to come. Many people ask the developers at Sandfall Studio how they managed to create such a great game with such a small team. The answer? “We wanted to create a game that we’d enjoy playing. We’re still playing it and creating new builds. Our team consists only of people who feel the same way.” Perhaps that’s exactly why Clair Obscur exudes the creators’ care and concern for the players. The result is something that goes beyond what we’re used to. It’s not a game you simply play through and finish. It’s a story that the player must experience and that reminds them, once again, why playing games is so great.
