While Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 does make some improvements from its predecessor, it also takes a few steps back. Player customizability and character builds take a step in the right direction, but enemy balance makes some fights feel like a struggle. The game is much more action-oriented; as an unintended consequence, it deemphasizes the atmosphere the Alien franchise is known for. Bugs and strange NPC dialogue bring Fireteam Elite 2 over the edge as a title that doesn't do much to set itself apart.
Silent Hill: Townfall is a great game, but small snags prevent it from being amazing. Atmosphere, sound design, and visual design are all done fantastically and feel right at home for the Silent Hill franchise. Gameplay moves towards a more stealth-oriented approach with great new mechanics like the CRTV. It sadly stumbles in other areas, such as a backloaded story, overwhelming enemy encounters, and being ungenerous when it comes to resources to lure enemies away. While the highs of the game are great, frustration can easily bog down the pacing.
Endless Ragnarok makes a good game better as it brings forth tons of quality-of-life improvements as well as brand new modes and a new story to fight through. While still suffering from some of the same narrative issues Relink had, the plethora of challenges and new playable characters will give long-time Relink players a reason to come back. New players will be able to experience the most complete Relink package, highlighting the game's satisfying combat first and foremost.
007 First Light marks a grand return for James Bond in the world of video games. Amazing graphics and a tightly paced story round out an exciting adventure filled with bombastic moments and action. Satisfying hand-to-hand combat and fleshed-out stealth mechanics fill the adventure and make up for sometimes lacking gunplay. While some jarring separation between sections can take players out of the experience, First Light still shines through as a wonderful love letter to everything Bond.
Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition is the best way you can play the original 1995 game. Tons of quality-of-life additions, as well as good emulation on modern platforms, make the game an easy recommendation. However, small problems like the lack of the original game's soundtrack prevent it from being excellent.
