This isn't entirely surprising, given the amount of leeway (and subsequent lack of punishment) given when entering a corner hard under brakes, or applying full throttle at the apex of said corner.
In many ways it's like an overblown action movie from the 1980s or early part of the 1990s, but even here it doles out the cheese without its own identity.
So many possibilities exist to make this into an exciting and enjoyable game. Sadly, in its current form, it just isn't.
This isn't a tactical shooter, it's an action-RPG, where map design and asset placement needs to promote clear pathing and enable fast-paced motion.
Whether this will suffice to keep players engaged until the next expansion hits remains to be seen. I think it's safe to assume the potential for randomised rolls on weapons and perks will be ameliorated by Bungie's heavy-handed approach to the weapons system for the sake of striking a balance between PvE and PvP.
It feels like you are the sole survivor in a post apocalyptic USSR where the cold war turned nuclear hot.
It's fun for a quick bash sure, but for similar expenditure you could be playing Forza 7, Project Cars 2, or the literally billions of other racing games on the market.
