4 / 10 - Haven
Mar 10, 2021

BAD - Haven introduces some nice ideas but fails to capture its core audience: people who are actually in relationships. If it can’t do that, I’m not really sure who this game is for.

EXCELLENT - The wizards at Panic Button have once again done the impossible of porting one of the biggest and greatest shooters of 2020, maybe all time, offering Switch owners the chance to hunt demons anywhere and anytime. It’s time to rip ‘n’ tear on the go with Doom Eternal.

GOOD - Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythmic Adventure Pack is a decent game for hardcore fans of the beloved Japanese drum rhythm game but I find it hard to recommend it to anyone outside of that core audience. If you’re looking for more variety and a much bigger song list, check out Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun, which is more of a greatest hits of the franchise.

GREAT - Bigger and bolder than its predecessor, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle is a fantastic sequel to the Wii cult classic. Now, the game looks better than ever and thanks to the Switch there are plenty of ways to play and stay faithful to the original’s motion controls.

7.5 / 10.0 - No More Heroes
Nov 9, 2020

GOOD - Suda51’s original vision is on full display here in No More Heroes. The Switch port is now the best way to play the classic title from the Wii era. It’s not for everyone but fans of superheroes and anime will undoubtedly find joy here.

EXCELLENT - It’s you against 34 other Marios in a quest to be last plumber standing. With plenty of risk/reward gameplay and an exciting twist on a tried-and-true formula, this limited time experience shouldn’t be missed. What are you still doing reading this? Super Mario Bros. 35 is amazing and it’s free for Switch Online subscribers! Go download it now!

GOOD - Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a (lazy) collection of some of Mario’s best 3D ventures and some of the best video games ever made. Is it an obvious cash grab? Yes. Will you buy it? Probably.

9 / 10 - Fight Crab
Sep 14, 2020

EXCELLENT - Fight Crab is a fun and silly escape from the anxiety inducing year that is 2020. Do yourself a favor and pick it up, play with some friends, and have a crab flipping good time.

MEDIOCRE - This is not the anime game that you’re looking for. You might be tempted to play it just to fight as your favorite manga hero, but chances are you’ll just ultimately end up as disappointed as I was. With performance issues, lack of quality audio visual presentation, and a bunch of grinding to unlock characters, this fighting game leaves much to be desired.

GOOD - If you’re a fan of the legendary animated series then you’ll no doubt find enjoyment here cutting up Aku’s robotic army as Samurai Jack. Just don’t expect much more than that out of this title.
