Regardless of the texturing issues, Disgaea 1 Complete looks good and plays quite well for a fifteen-year-old game. Returning players will feel right at home, and newcomers will enjoy what made Disgaea a popular, tactical role-playing game in the first place. Best of all, playing on the Nintendo Switch allows you take this great, comedic adventure anywhere. Basically, when it comes to whether or not you should play, the answer is clear: Aye Aye, Dood!

Senran Kagura Reflexions is a guilty pleasure of a game that you will not often see released outside of Japan. It is also quite short, and the price point is a bit hard to swallow when you add all the characters together. However, it makes good use of the Joy-Cons and the HD Rumble. Just be mindful when playing in public, so keep calm and rub on.

SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy delivers some unique battles with a cast of enjoyable characters. The game’s difficulty spike in the story mode and the lack of content are unfortunate, but it’s an otherwise good game for those who are getting their feet wet in the fighting genre.

3.5 / 5.0 - It's Spring Again
Sep 12, 2018

Like any children’s storybook, It’s Spring Again is very short. However, you can get a good couple playthroughs in before kids will want to move on. At $1.99 (USD), it’s a great price for an interactive book for your little ones to enjoy and get them learning about weather and seasonal changes. Of course, that’s if you don’t mind having your Nintendo Switch in their hands; otherwise, you can pick it up on iOS or Android for $0.99. However you play, it’s a game worth revisiting again and again. Also note that the Nintendo Switch version can only be played undocked as it requires interaction with the touch-screen.

Code of Princess EX is an entertaining beat-em-up game that is simple enough that anyone can jump in. Even though the boss battles can be tedious and the graphics aren’t as polished as they could be, it’s still an adventure of decent caliber.

Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs is an interesting RPG that offers a tons of comedic dialogue and deep gameplay in the well-drawn world of Ascalia. While the game’s user interface and drawn-out battles can put a damper on players’ enjoyment, the various gameplay modes thankfully make the game accessible for everyone. With a little hard work, this kingdom may be one worth saving, after all.

While Shining Resonance Refrain’s story is yet another tale of going against an evil empire, the battle mechanics are simple and fun, with a wonderful theme of music to go with it. There isn’t much too deep to dig into compared to other JRPGs, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a good time with this one. Play on!

4 / 5.0 - EARTHLOCK
Jun 29, 2018

Earthlock’s heavy influence of classic ‘90s RPGs, old-school battle mechanics, and enjoyable character growth system, along with an intriguing world, is enough to bring in and entertain RPG fans, even if the battles are tough. Snowcastle has done an excellent job revamping the world of Umbra and Nintendo Switch players should make sure not to miss out.

Megadimension Neptunia VIIR is an entertaining title for Neptunia fans with its unique characters and storytelling. However, with only minor campaign adjustments and a slapped-on VR experience that is more novelty than necessity, those who have played the original title will have a difficult time justifying a return visit. For everyone else, go with the blessing of a CPU.

Colorful, wacky, and fun, The Adventure Pals is an entertaining platformer that’ll give you a reason why you should have your very own giraffe and pet rock as companions. While some levels feel repetitive and the dialogue text size could be tweaked, it’s a purrrtastic adventure to play on your favorite console.

Dragon’s Crown Pro is a gorgeous looking game, despite its exaggerated illustrations. Even if no new content has been added to this new version, players will enjoy the updated 4K resolution and the fact that they can transfer their game data from previous games and continue where they left off. Those who haven’t yet played this arcade-style adventure no longer have an excuse to wait. Add this crown to your collection immediately.

4 / 5.0 - Gal*Gun 2
May 25, 2018

Gal*Gun 2 is an amusing first-person, arcade-style shooter that you can’t take seriously. Like many similar titles, each gaming session will provide solid entertainment for a few hours, but after that, players will want to put it down in favor of something else. That said, fans will come back to achieve 100% completion. If you are a player that is self-aware of others watching you, Gal*Gun 2 isn’t the type of game to play on a train, in the park, or even around your friends and relatives (unless they are into these games, too). For everyone else, have a Doki Doki good time!
