A Remake that is a lesson in how to make a game more enjoyable without losing its originality. Some of the mechanics may feel dated to modern gamers, but players who grew up with retro J-RPGs will be in heaven.

On its own, Eiyuden Chronicle is a very successful game, a throwback to the golden age of the genre. However, it is a great risk for both players and itself that it does not offer anything new by swimming in completely guaranteed waters. Especially when you consider that Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is coming out soon.

It's great to see a dying franchise back on its feet, both with its beloved classic gameplay and new mechanics that feel fresh. One of the best games in the series.

Cannibal Abduction is a quality game that pays homage to PS1 era survival horror games. Especially fans of the era like me will feel at home.

It's essentially a classic Yakuza game, but the samurai theme added a completely different flavor. Arguably one of the best games in the series.

The Anniversary Collection, which includes all the games from the classic period of the series where you can experience different versions, is a package that respects its history. Hands down the best way to experience Wonder Boy.

The Cowabunga Collection is a definite example of how a compilation should be, both with the number of games it contains and features and extra content it offers. Obviously, Digital Eclipse acted with great respect for both its work and the history of the series. For fans of the series, it's a dreamlike time machine that takes you back to the golden days of Ninja Turtles.

It's a weird collection that doesn't include the best game of series (Wonder Boy 3) and feels like a glorified emulation package. Unless you're itching for some Wonder Boy, you may want to wait until Anniversary Collection is released.

Ganryu 2 is not a AAA masterpiece. But it is a very fun adventure that smells like pure Arcade era. It has some minor issues, like the short gameplay time and the problems with the wall bouncing mechanics, but I really enjoyed playing it. I recommend you not to miss it especially if you catch it at an affordable price.
