Remnant: from the Ashes is a third-person adventure RPG. Developed by Gunfire Games and originally released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows in the summer of 2019. It’s an eclectic story setting of an apocalyptic event that razed the world and interdimensional travel to find its source. Is it worth picking up? Let’s find out in this rapid review!

You will begin your playthrough by selecting one of the eight protagonists as your main character. I went with Hikari, the Prince of the kingdom of Ku. You can experience every character’s storyline, but the main character will use their own Path Actions. This sees a return from the previous game and allows one to interact with NPCs in unique ways, such as stealing, gaining information or an item. However, there are two available; daytime and nighttime.

Almost a year after Kirby’s adventure in the Forgotten Land, Nintendo and HAL Laboratory go deep into their archive to bring over a Wii classic. Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe tells the tale of the mysterious Magolor. Magolor has crashed his ship on Planet Popstar. With crucial components missing, it’s up to Kirby, King Deedeedee, Meta Knight, and Bandana Waddledee to retrieve them and help the interdimensional being repair his vessel. THQ Nordic has once again published a beloved game that was hidden within the vaults of time. Risen received mostly positive reviews back in 2010 and had a decent following. The story sees a nameless protagonist who has washed ashore on the island of Faranga after his vessel is decimated by a sea Titan. This inhabited island is believed to have the secret to defeating the Titans, and the Inquisitors have taken over most of its settlements. What’s worse, though, is the unexpected unearthing of temples all over the island, which are raided by the Warriors of the Order, led by the Inquisitor, Mendoza.

The Soulslike genre has become particularly popular in the West, thanks to games like Bloodborne and the critically acclaimed Elden Ring. As a fan of the genre, Mortal Shell’s arrival to the hybrid console was a pleasant surprise, especially after learning that it was developed by an indie studio.

Back in 2017, the Mario and Rabbids announcement was a bit of a shock, not least a gamble on behalf of Ubisoft, who combined one of gaming’s greatest icons with one of its most irritating spinoffs. Well, boy do we have something for you! Its sequel has recently been released, bringing more Minion-like antics to the mushroom kingdom, and beyond.
