9.7 / 10.0 - Bayonetta 3
Nov 15, 2022

Bayonetta 3 is a refinement of Platinum Games iconic gameplay and formula. A game that pays homage to not only the team's mechanical expertise, but also Hideki Kamiya's excellent iconic directing style. A project that focuses on all of the team's success, and a testament to the fact that Platinum Games is still worthy of being among the best in action games

Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief is a very original game, combining Stealth with a scoring system from action games, making it have a faster and more frenetic gameplay. A simple and fun game, that suffers a bit from the simple remastering and some inconsistencies in the mechanics.

River City Girls Zero didn't come trying to remake or reimagine what was already there, integrating a classic into the modern history of the River City saga, giving us a nostalgic experience, and finally giving us a story that was absent for so many years in the West. A good appetizer while waiting for the main course that is River City Girls 2.

Sep 30, 2022

Lost Epic is without a doubt a well-designed metroidvania, with solid level design, a good pace, and fun gameplay. It may stumble a bit in its final moments, but it is a game that definitely serves as an example that sometimes focused design prevails.

Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed is a faithful remake that does not attempt to drastically change the original game, focusing instead on improving and expanding upon the first game. A game for the fans. Fun, funny, and chaotic.

8 / 10.0 - Thymesia
Aug 16, 2022

Thymesia is a very interesting game. On the one hand, it's hard to find unique aspects that define it, leaning too much on its inspirations, lacking that defining light. On the other hand, the team's expertise in design and game mechanics show the talent and potential for something more. Thymesia is a good start to what could be an impressive future for Overborder Studio.

7.8 / 10.0 - Winter Ember
May 28, 2022

Winter Ember is a game that really stirs my nostalgia. Being a fan of classic stealth games, I feel that we have here a tribute to one of the great pioneers of the genre. It's a game that stumbles a few times along the way, but it's worth it for the classic experience it provides.

Arise: A Simple Story takes you on a journey of emotions through the memories of a protagonist. A simple and focused story, quite unique among the industry's common epic narratives. Being a game where you control the time, it also surprises by the fact that it respects the player's time a lot, being a shorter experience (about 4 hours), but free of any unnecessary moments or irrelevant content.

Atlus delivers again in what is its specialty, and carries with it without any pressure, the enormous weight that is Shin Megami Tensei, delivering one of the best JRPGs of 2021. If you are a fan of that characteristic Japanese style and like a serious turn-based RPG, think no more, you have found the right game!

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water provides a very effective atmosphere, with good scares and chills, and is unfortunately consumed by constant repetition, losing much or all of its "charm" in the final chapters.
