Death Metal Dahlia Caravan SandWitch Review

Beautiful game, interesting premise, but despite the game tags that say it's diverse and inclusive, it's hard to enjoy a game that puts all of its q***r characters into negative situations with negative outcomes, even with the "good" ending. We have more than enough sad stories about q***r people, and the "bury your g**s" trope is old, tired, and disheartening in today's world. We need positive representation that actually has happy and healthy LGBT folx without the need for "drama" to make their lives in-game miserable or end miserably, and while I had hope this game would treat its q***r characters better, it's incredibly disappointing that once again representational media would rather have them suffer "for realism's sake". Video games are supposed to be a break from the hardships of existing in a cruel world, and why would I willfully play something that chooses not to give me that break from reality? Do better, be better. Glad I got it for free through epic's weekly giveaway as I wouldn't have played it otherwise, and as fun as it was for a short time, finishing it left a bitter taste behind.
