DipDopDooopidy The Last of Us Part I Review
Jul 16, 2025
TLOU is one of my favorite games of all time, which is why even after paying $30, this still feels like a very lazy remake. I will say the greatest part about this remake are that the cutscenes are definately completely remade from the ground up and you see a more seemless transition from the cutscene to the gameplay.
However, that's where 90% of the work is finished. This remake looks nearly identical to remaster when you go back into gameplay. The only changes I caught were
1. The reticle from the bow was changed to what is was in TLOU2.
2. The generator minigame is no longer the large rectange and it's the circle UI from TLOU2.
3. Added the work bench animations for the upgrades.
But the core gameplay, content and graphics are the exact same. I feel sorry for anyone who bought this who could've bought TLOU Remaster, which is still playable on PS5. This rating more represents the quality and improvements of the remake, but I would recommend to just get remaster, unless you are able to find this game only $10 more or less more expensive than remaster and you don't care about the multiplayer that this game does not have.
