The Elder Scrolls Online: Thieves Guild is the most promising addition yet to the otherwise bland and repetitive experience the game has offered in the past. With a new take on common theft similar in execution to the Metal Gear series, and the addition of a rather unique new land and a massive 12 man quest, the Thieves Guild expansion is a must get for all hardcore Elder Scrolls Online players, and a more than welcome positive sign of things to come for newcomers to the series or those looking to return to Tamriel.
There's more of the same on offer here, so if you enjoy Elder Scrolls Online then it's probably worth a purchase, but if you don't, this offering isn't going to change your mind.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited - Thieves Guild is an enjoyable and distinctively different DLC in comparison to all that has come before. The story section is entertaining and keeps the player interested throughout, while the new additions to the base game really help to enhance and improve the overall experience. There's definite value for money here.
Even if the experience is schizophrenic, The Elder Scrolls Online earned its award as the Best MMO of 2015: it's fun, engaging, and unique. It breaks free of so many conventional standards of the genre that orienting oneself anew is quite a challenge. It's well worth it to do so, though, because the plethora of quests, adventures, and journeys to be had - like with this new DLC, Thieves Guild - make its single-player cousin look almost quaint. This influx of new content, new abilities, and new areas are meant to revitalise, not reinvent, and they fit pretty well with what most people would expect of a typical MMO's content patches.
The Thieves Guild DLC for Elder Scrolls Online is unlike any other add-on content you’ve played on the series and as a result, it’s going to cause some disconnect among hardcore fans. Regardless, it’s an interesting side street on the series that’ll give you hours of new content and reward you with plenty of cool new items and abilities if you have the patience to muster through it.
