If you're a fan of the original Legend of Zelda and don't already own the vanilla Ittle Dew 2 then Ittle Dew 2+ is a must-buy adventure that's bursting with charm in a vibrant, memorable, and puzzle-filled world.
Ittle Dew from 2013 has always been seen as a game that took direct inspiration from The Legend of Zelda series. Ittle Dew 2+ follows that principle, but adds so much more than the original game and sets out to create its own identity. It's sort of like allowing a game like Zelda to go a little crazy by not being entirely serious and be a well-designed game at the same time. Players looking for sidequests in order to have more to do won't exactly find that in Ittle Dew 2+. Instead, the puzzles and dungeons that are in the game are enough to fill that void. The developer Ludosity created an even better product than Ittle Dew's first outing and this game is sure to please fans of the first game as well as players looking for a puzzle-solving top-down action-adventure in the same vein as The Legend of Zelda. The team has great ideas and I'd love to see what they could come up with if given the opportunity of a bigger production budget.
Ittle Dew 2+ is a fantastic game. On a console with a library full of wonderful indies like Shovel Knight and FAST Racing NEO, Ittle Dew 2+ stands among the best of them. The Switch version commands a $10 premium over the PC version but it also adds five new dungeons, a worthy addition in our opinion. Ittle and Tippsie's adventure is charming and funny, and embraces the spirit of exploration from the series to which it pays homage. If you're looking for the next great indie title for your Switch library, look no further.
Ittle Dew 2+ is a fantastic 2D Zelda style experience and is a well worth your time, puzzle solving can be difficult at times but the charm and presentation will be enough to keep you going until the fantastic conclusion.
Ittle Dew 2+ is hilarious though, and, even if it isn’t as mentally challenging, the game’s undeniable charm and pun-filled humour will carry you through to its concluding moments. Tippsie is the best companion an adventure could ever need (even if he needs to kick his health potion addiction), and the game throws more than enough ideas at you to make sure that it entertains.
Although it encourages you to explore to find hidden items, the game is basically "Go to this dungeon, now go to this dungeon" until the very end. Besides that though, I really did enjoy my time playing and laughing through the quirky story and it's undeniable charm. Sure it's not exactly Zelda, but Ittle Dew (2+).
Ittle Dew 2+ is a perfect fit for the portable Switch, and a supplement if you've been missing a top-down Zelda title on it. It has its own brand of humor and is chock-full of creativity with its visuals, dialogue, and puzzles, but can be found lacking with regard to its repetitive, unrewarding combat.
Ittle Dew 2+ is a close follower to the original title, too close to be groundbreaking on its own but not without its charms. Thanks to well-designed puzzles and to an open world that can be explored in a non-linear way, Ittle Dew 2+ can bring a pleasant experience despite its occasional feelings of repetitiveness and overall simplicity.
