[I]t is a beautiful-looking and well-written game, in a way that adventures far too rarely see. It's a game that proves to me that I'm right to demand so much more from point-n-clickers that get eulogised despite their enormous flaws. It has restored my faith that the genre deserves high expectations, even if it occasionally fails to meet them. And it's a long, detailed chunk of hefty sci-fi, with some careful character work.

Wadjet Eye has put out yet another classic sci-fi adventure game, packed with entertaining characters, thoughtful and original puzzles and plenty of nostalgic goodness. If you're the least bit interested in point n' click or sci-fi, Technobabylon is well worth a punt - and don't forget to check out earlier titles such as Gemini Rue and Primordia if they passed you by before.

Technobabylon explores a lot of themes that lend themselves well to its futuristic setting, from sexual identity and spirituality to the perversion or preservation of humanity, exploring the vast spectrum of our species' culture, and showing both the good and the bad.

Technobabylon is loaded with cool ideas and it's a lot of fun to play. The story, multiple playable characters, creative and interesting settings, and challenging but logical puzzles kept me entertained from start to finish.

Technobabylon is one of the best adventures WadjetEye have ever published, and that's saying something. While the last two Blackwell games beat it by having slightly smarter and more realistic puzzles, Technobabylon still does them well and almost edges ahead by occasionally having multiple solutions.

Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish, Technobabylon is a breath of fresh air in the world of point-and-click adventures. Perhaps a little too rough around the edges for some in terms of visuals, looking past this reveals a truly splendid core product filled to the brim with an emotive soundtrack, stellar voice work, a gripping and sometimes even disturbing storyline, as well as - imperatively - extremely smart puzzle construction.

While there is no shortage of choice when it comes to adventure games — especially on Steam — Technobabylon is not just another face in the crowd. Whether you're a fan of exceptional adventure games, science fiction, or even its apparent influences, there is a memorable adventure in Technobabylon backed by a believable setting and driven by a strong narrative.

It's not a perfect game – it can be frustrating and needlessly complicated at times – but the story, aesthetic, top notch voice acting and sound track, and creative inspiration more than make up for it.

Technobabylon's cyberpunk world isn't groundbreaking, but there's still plenty to love in this point-and-click adventure.
