Picross S2 perfectly encapsulates the alluring “one more go” feeling that so many like-minded puzzle games aspire for, and does so with such masterful implementation. Jupiter show they are still the master of their craft, as they have always been in their 25 years of releasing Picross titles across Nintendo’s hardware.
Whether you're new to Picross, or you've played it since the Game Boy days, Jupiter's excellent and refined gameplay experience in Picross S2 is the perfect way to unwind and relax in short or long bursts.
Jupiter has delivered another satisfying slice of Picross bliss. While Picross S2 might be just more of the same, its hard to imagine a way in which the developer could shake things up without ruining what makes the puzzler so addictive in the first place.
Picross S2 is a relaxing game that offers some variety in its gameplay to stay interesting enough. It is surprisingly addictive, yet it also lacks some features that could improve its levels of variety. Its price currently seems a little too high for what is offered.
Picross S2 feels exactly like the previous game. It is still very addictive, but also unable to bring some real new stuff to the mixture, except a rebranded Micross mode.
